Gold Coast Beaches

One of the main reasons that visitors flock to Broadbeach is the stunning Gold Coast beaches. Stretching over 50 miles, the coastline offers gorgeous golden sand, crystal clear water, reliable swells for surfers and the world-famous Australian lifeguards patrolling the top bathing locations.

The Gold Coast lifeguards fully deserve their fantastic reputation as they play a vital role in helping to make the Gold Coast such an ideal and safe family holiday destination. More beaches on the Gold Coast are patrolled than any other region in Australia. The council also goes to great lengths to promote beach and surf safety to visitors to ensure that everyone understands the risks so are able to make educated decisions.

Broadbeach itself is one of the most popular areas on the Gold Coast, and Kurrawa Beach is known as one of the safest beaches on the Gold Coast and even hosts some of Australia’s major surf life saving competitions. There is also a wide pedestrian area with numerous shops and cafes, and a children’s play area and fairground, which is open all year round.

There is plenty of room on the spacious beaches to soak up the sun and relax. However, if you want to be a bit more active there is also kite surfing, sand sculpting and volleyball on offer, and of course the region’s most popular sport, surfing.
