broadbeach accommodation -  fact sheet #1

Why Do I Need To Book Early?

The Gold Coast is renowned for the apartment blocks and resorts that extend along the whole length of the coastline. It's a common mistake to assume there is plenty of accommodation available and the need to book early is a myth.

The most common reason why holiday makers fail to secure a booking, or miss out on their preferred accommodation, is that their enquiry was made too late.

The Broadbeach accommodation available for casual holiday bookings is limited for the following reasons.

  • As much as 60% to 70% of the visible accommodation is occupied by permanent  residents.

  • Many holiday apartments are pre-booked for the following season as guests check out.

  • Accommodation is committed to major travel wholesalers and tour group operators

  • Gold Coast festivals and events result in large block bookings for participants, spectators etc.

So when you are advised to book early, it's for a very good reason... you may well miss out if you don't!  When holiday makers fail to obtain a reservation, or miss out on their preferred accommodation, its usually because they left it too late.

 How Far In Advance?

High Season is the Xmas - New Year holiday period, usually from around the 20th Dec. to 20th Jan. but dates will vary between different properties.  It's recommended that you book at least 4-5 months in advance for the high season.

Mid Season is usually the September - October school holidays and the Easter long week-end. Some properties also include the June - July school holidays. Book at least 3-4 months in advance. Mid season rates sometimes apply to special events such as the The Armor All Gold Coast 600 motor race carnival.

Low Season is all other dates. There is usually no shortage of vacancies during the low season periods but booking 45-60 days in advance is strongly recommended. There are numerous festivals, events, conferences, conventions etc  throughout the year that result in increased demand for Broadbeach accommodation.
