BROADBEACH BEACHES
The main attraction for
holiday makers visiting Broadbeach and the Gold Coast is the incredible Gold
Coast beaches. Over 50 km of clear waters, fine golden sands,
ocean swells for surfers and with surf
life savers patrolling all the major bathing locations.
The Gold Coast
City Council patrols more beaches than any other local authority in
Australia, utilising helicopters, boats, jet skis and watercraft in its
rescue operations, making it an ideal destination for families.
Beach and surf safety is extensively promoted on the Gold Coast to
assist visitors better understand risks and how to avoid them.
Broadbeach has two
patrolled areas that ensure safe swimming for everyone. From October to
May, the dedicated volunteer lifesavers from Kurrawa and Broadbeach Surf
Clubs are on weekend duty. Every other day of the year, professional
Council lifeguards patrol a network of beach towers.

Kurrawa Beach enjoys a reputation as a safe bathing location and hosts some of Australia's major surf life
saving competitions. A wide pedestrian shopping and a café precinct
lies just off the beach, with children’s play equipment and fairground rides that
operate all year.
There’s more than just
rest, relaxation and surfing on Broadbeach’s golden sands. Try your hand
at kite surfing, volleyball or sand sculpturing. Regular
surfing schools will have you out on the waves the waves in no time at
all.
